Ms. Jaskirat Kaur grew up in India, wherein she earned her B.A.(Honor’s) in Psychology from Delhi University in 2010. She also completed a Master’s in Psychology from Ambedkar University, New Delhi in 2012. After having moved to St. Louis, MO in December of 2015, Ms. Kaur took up additional master’s level coursework for licensure at University of Missouri, St. Louis and Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO.
Having developed keen interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy over the years, Ms. Kaur also completed the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, a post-master’s training program from St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute in May, 2019. Even though Ms. Kaur primarily utilizes the psychodynamic or an insight-oriented approach in therapy, she also includes mindfulness techniques and principles of cognitive behavior therapy.
In her experience of working as a mental health professional in the last five years, Ms. Kaur has worked in a variety of settings with adolescents and adults suffering from mood disorders including depression, anxiety and trauma along with substance abuse and difficulties in relationships including deeper characterological problems, issues of self-esteem, identity and life-transitions, infertility, grief and loss.
