Melissa K. Puthran, Psy.D.

After receiving Bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University-Bloomington (1995) and Eastern Michigan University (2000), Melissa K. Puthran earned her Master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis in 2013 and doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis in 2018. Dr. Puthran completed her APA- accredited clinical psychology internship at Park Center, Inc. in Ft. Wayne, IN, where her clinical foci included sexually maladaptive behaviors in youth, court-referred parenting evaluations, inpatient substance abuse treatment, mindfulness-based treatment, and outpatient psychotherapy. Dr. Puthran conducts psychotherapy with adults and adolescents, and approaches clinical work from a person-centered perspective, also heavily influenced by psychoanalytic and cognitive-behavioral (specifically ACT and mindfulness-based) theories.

Dr. Puthran’s areas of interest include psychological testing, forensic psychology, treatment of anxiety and depression, self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, complex trauma, sexually maladaptive behaviors, and relational problems.
